Sketching is a fundamental tool for exploring ideas, practicing, and capturing images in a simple and informal way. For me, sketching is as a creative outlet — very intimate and personal, a method for self-discovery and developing my own style.
The following is an ongoing series on the various shrines and sacred places of Kashmir. It includes places that I have visited, and places I have seen pictures of since the sites have either been replaced by new constructions or they no longer exist.

In the series below, I have tried to sketch the details of the human eye. While most of the sketches in this series are done using a sketch pencil, I have add some shades of color using dry water color pencils to a few.

The collection below contains sketches done over a long span of time. Some notewothy protraits in this collection are those of my son sleeping on a sofa when he was a little boy, a friend looking at a picture in her cell phone with blue and purple light glowing on her hair, an old lady with cataract, and a native American man.
